Vieux Port Tunnel, Marseille, Italy
Thorn wins Marseille tunnel contract There’s a new look to the Vieux Port Tunnel in Marseille coming along soon, and it’s all down to new lighting. The Infrastructure Branch of the Marseille Provence Métropole (MPM) has awarded Thorn the contract to refurbish the 600m long immersed tunnel with 759 high output Gotthard fluorescent luminaires – in wattage ratings of 55W, single and twin. The majority are dimmable.

Eagle's Nest Tunnel
Eagle's Nest Tunnel, 2.1km total length, is a tunnel has been opened since March 2008 between Cheung Sha Wan and Sha Tin Valley through Eagle's Nest in Hong Kong in anticipation of future traffic demands generated by development in the northeast New Territories.
Hung Hom Cross Harbour Tunnel
Hung Hom Cross Harbour Tunnel, comprises1.8 km-long tunnel crossing opened in 1972, providing the first road link between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island; Cross-harbour vehicular traffic depended on ferries before the tunnel was built.
Choi Wan Road and Jordan Valley
Thorn was involved to provide a energy efficient and vandalproof lighting solution for this pedestrian footbridge project. We chose the U.K. made Designplan luminaire model Tuscan 2x28W T5 which has the dust and water ingress protected functionalities, and complete with photocell control system for power switching on-off at dawn and dusk.
MTR West Rail Line
The West Rail Line is one of the MTR main lines in Hong Kong stretching to the sub-urban areas of North West New Territories. It was commissioned to service in December 2003.
Kwai Fong Public Transport Interchange
Kwai Fong Public Transport Interchange is located just next to Kwai Fong MTR station, where Thorn provides 125 sets of Thorn TTL Highbay luminaires which are of IP65 dust and water ingress protected with spun aluminium body and borosilicate glass reflector with very efficient light distribution and excellent uniformity that such demanding technical performance is expected for Public Transport Interchange lighting application.
Nam Wan Tunnel
The Nam Wan Tunnel in Hong Kong is set to be one of the engineering marvels of modern times. It has been under construction since 2003 and was completed in 2007, opened to traffic on 20 December 2009. Along with the West Tsing Yi Viaduct, East Tsing Yi Viaduct and Stonecutters Bridge, the road tunnel forms an important part of the HK$15 billion Route 8, linking Tsing Yi and Sha Tin in the city.
Kwai Fuk Road Roundabout Subway
The pedestrian subway system at Kwai Fuk Road roundabout has two legs connecting the northern section of Kwai Fuk Road to Container Port Road. Pedestrians from other directions of the roundabout must gain access through the at-grade crossings, which span two traffic lanes, to the public-transport interchange nearby.
